Do the mitzvah of donating blood at Ahavath Achim Synagogue’s quarterly Blood Drive. Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. To support social distancing, appointments are now required (schedule appointment through the button below)! The following safety precautions will be taken when you arrive for your appointment:
- Temperatures will be taken at the door.
- Beds will be six feet apart or more.
- Donors will be asked to come at their scheduled time; if they come early, and we have reached the number inside for that time, they will have to wait outside until it is their turn.
- All chairs will be sterilized between each donor visit.
For a limited time, the American Red Cross will test all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies as an additional health service to our donors. This testing may provide critical insight into whether donors may have possibly been exposed to this Coronavirus. The Red Cross is committed to helping others in meaningful ways during this pandemic.
The Quarterly Blood Drive is sponsored by Ahavath Achim Synagogue, Congregation Shearith Israel, Congregation Or VeShalom, Jewish War Veterans Post 112, and Fulton Lodge No. 216 Free and Accepted Masons.
