Start collecting your unwanted, hard-to-recycle items for the spring Great Big Recycling Event! The AA Greening Group will take these items to CHaRM (the Center for Hard to Recycle Materials) for you, keeping harmful contaminants out of landfills.

Please bring only the items listed below to the Synagogue's upper parking lot. Greening Group volunteers will help you unload and collect fees and donations (always welcomed).

  • Styrofoam (e.g., old coolers, appliance packing—must be bagged)
  • Small appliances (e.g., toasters, space heaters)
  • Computers and monitors (fee of $20 per item)
  • Electric cords, batteries (no alkaline), and chargers
  • Glass bottles (clean and dry with no lids)
  • Books (hardcover or paperback—no wire binding)
  • Plastic bags (stretchy, not crackly/bubbly)
  • Florescent tubes (fee of $1 per two tubes)
  • CDs and CD cases (separated)
  • Plastic containers (with triangular recycling numbers 1, 2, 4, 5, or 6)
