Join us for a meaningful and inspiring Sustainability Shabbat as Congregation Ahavath Achim explores our Jewish responsibility to care for the world around us. This special morning will weave together prayer, learning, and action — reminding us that tikkun olam, the repair of the world, begins with the choices we make every day.
Our service will feature guest speaker Reverend Tiffanie Lanelle Mackey, MDiv, Vice-Chair of GIPL, who will illuminate the rich Jewish tradition of environmental stewardship, drawing on Torah, halacha, and the deep spiritual wisdom that has always called us to treat creation with reverence and care. Together, we'll discover that protecting our planet is not simply a social cause — it is a mitzvah, a value, and a way of drawing closer to the Divine.Schedule:

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM – Israel Exploration Table focuses on learning from Israel's groundbreaking water conservation practices
The celebration continues at our Kiddush Lunch, where words become action. Our table will model the very principles we've prayed over — featuring environmentally conscious and sustainably sourced food, composting in practice, and a tangible look at how small, intentional choices can make a meaningful difference for generations to come.
