NCJW Repro Shabbat

Sat, February 14 @ 9:30 am2:00 pm

National Council of Jewish Women Repro Shabbat @ AA

What is NCJW Repro Shabbat?

In 2021, the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), in partnership with hundreds of synagogues and organizations across the country, set aside the Shabbat when we read Parshat Mishpatim as Repro Shabbat. At AA, this is an opportunity to learn about the Jewish laws governing termination of pregnancy and to hear experts discuss the status of reproductive health and rights in Georgia and the role each of us can play in protecting reproductive rights.

Repro Shabbat Agenda:

  • 10:30 – 11:30 (Cavalier) Torah Study
Lois Frank will discuss Mishpatim, Exodus 21:22 – 25, and the Jewish laws governing the termination of pregnancy.
  • 11:30 – 12:00 (Sanctuary) Sermon
Rabbi Laurence Rosenthal will give the sermon, "Jewish Views on the Sanctity of Life and Terminating Pregnancy."
  • 12:45 – 2:00 (Paradies) Post-Kiddush Panel:  Reproductive Health and Rights in Georgia
An exciting discussion facilitated by Susie Greenberg, National Council of Jewish Women, Atlanta section, Co-President, and chaired by Nancy Levine, AA Executive Vice President.
