Shabbat Morning Service Celebrating Rabbi Neil and Susan Sandler
Sat, Jun 12 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Please join us for Shabbat service on Saturday, June 12 as we honor Rabbi Neil and Susan Sandler on their 17 years of service to our community. Join us the following day, Sunday, June 13, at the Annual Meeting where we will present them with the Tribute Book, compiled from the contributions sent in by our community, followed by the unveiling of the portrait commissioned in their honor. We thank our very own Joe Alterman, who will be showcasing his musical talents!
The Annual Meeting is also our time to gather as a congregational family to take stock of where we are, where we are going and also to attend to synagogue affairs. The “State of the Synagogue: Past, Present and Future” will be presented, as well as an open conversation about the future of our facilities. This is an extraordinary opportunity to bring your questions and receive the most up-to-date information regarding our ongoing endeavors to renovate and rejuvenate our wonderful shul. The business portion of the meeting includes the election and installation of both officers and board of directors. The full slate of officers and board of directors that has been presented by the Nominating Committee has been mailed to every congregant. Additional nominations for officers or directors may be made by petition with at least 25 signatures from members. These additional nominations must be submitted to the president no later than fifteen days prior to the Annual Meeting. All AA members, in good standing, who are present at the Annual Meeting, in person or by proxy, are eligible to vote. A quorum of 80 members is required, in person or by proxy (proxy form).
The Annual Meeting will be held virtually and in-person, with light refreshments served. If you plan to attend Shabbat services and/or the Annual Meeting, please RSVP directly to Miriam Habif Gelfond for both events, and send her a copy of your vaccination card (404.603.5749; firstname.lastname@example.org). This is necessary in order to help us to plan as well as to facilitate catering. All food for both the Shabbat service and the Annual Meeting, will be served in a Covid-appropriate way – outside (weather permitting) and appropriately socially-distanced.
